Hello, I was wondering if there was any way of composting done in people's homes, where applying to their own garden was not an option, to instead be used in allotment sites in Edinburgh?
I live in a small flat with no garden at present and wince every time I throw organic material into the bin. I would be delighted to have a place to compost this. I could deliver to any of the allotment sites around Leith. Would anyone be interested?
I take it that you are not a plot holder already? If you know any plot holders at your nearest site I am sure they would be delighted to receive it. You would need to arrange access though as almost all have gates permanently locked.
Some sites have their own communal composting sites, most plots have individual compost heaps (everyone should have and use one).
I know one of our ex plotholders still brings hers to our site, which is very praise-worthy environmentally!
