A new 21 plot allotment site at Mackenzie Place in the New Town looks as if it will go ahead. It went to the planning committee on the 9th of March with the recommendation that the application be granted.

The allotment "hut" has caused some dissent from local residents as it does stand out a lot and there are some feelings that it does not suit the local area. This should not effect the permission for the allotments themselves as it will be considered by the council seperately in light of residents objections and police concerns.
