A wild North American gooseberry. Very hardy and disease resistant fruit variety.
Fruit is purplish black larger than a blackcurrant but smaller than a gooseberry.
Fruit starts off a bit acidic but becomes sweeter the longer it is left. Fruit will stay ripe on plant for weeks.
Resistant to american gosseberry mildew and sawfly larvae have not been a problem for my plants either, even when the surounding gooseberries have been severely infested.
Easily propagated from cuttings or prunings.
