Warriston Allotments

Warriston plotholder Alison Hewitt has written a comprehensive history of Warriston Allotments covering events from their creation in the early 1930s to the present day. It includes an interesting account of the pre-history of the land on which the allotments stand from the original grant in 1128 by King David I and an account of the earliest days of the allotment community around the First World War and the Great Depression.
